Isla Margarita
Margarita Island has emerged as one of the best destinations in the Caribbean. Margarita, together with Islas Coche and Cubagua make up the stat of Nueva Esparta and are located off the northeast coast of Venezuela. Coche Island lies just 8miles south of Margarita Island off the north east coast of Venezuela and has a surface of 11km long and 6 km wide. There are beautiful, tranquil beaches for visitors to enjoy and pristine turquoise waters. Coche Island is often visited by the rich and famous on their private yachts, docking at the island for overnight stays.
Climate The sun shines almost constantly, and temperatures hover between 78 - 88 degrees Fahrenheit ( 26 – 31 degrees centigrade) all year. Gentle breezes constantly blow across the island, giving a welcome contrast to the heat of the sun. It rarely rains in Margarita; the average annual rainfall is 27 inches a year. Beaches The Island is blessed with 72 beaches with names like Carocola, Moreno, El Silguero, Pampatar and El Yaque. On beaches like El Agua, Parguito and Guacuco, you will find most services like hotels, restaurants, umbrellas and chairs, beside the opportunity to surf if you like the sport. Other beaches like Manzanillo, Puerto Cruz, La Restinga and Juan Griego, are partly oceanic and offer a great diversity of water sports and services.
