Bahamas
The moment your toes touch sand and your gaze meets water, you know you’re in The Islands Of The Bahamas. It’s the comfortable ease, the instant sense of belonging. It’s finding that your departure from everyday life is also your arrival at an extraordinary place within yourself.
The Exumas
Great Exuma and the chain of islands and cays that surrounds it, is one of the prettiest in The Bahamas and is well known for its beautiful turquoise waters and clean white sandy beaches. Bone fishing and sailing are the main activities on the island but also it has some of the best diving in the world. A short flight from Nassau (20 mins) or Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Florida just over an hour away you are never far from anywhere. “The Pirates of The Caribbean” and “Thunderball” were filmed here and in the Exuma Cays and many well known actors including Johnny Depp have private residences in the cays which is now designated a protected park. 356 islands make up the Exuma Cays one for every day of the year, where you can relax and enjoy complete privacy
When it comes to beautiful, breath-taking beaches, the Exumas offer some of the most beautiful shores on earth. Exuma beaches boast miles upon miles of pristine, white, sandy shores and the gentle waters lap at your feet in a veritable kaleidoscope of electric blues and sparkling jades. Because of Exuma’s sub-tropical climate, the temperature of the water is always ideal for a dip, a sail, or any other favourite water activity. Its’ hard to capture the true magic of Exuma on film the only way is to experience it for yourself; many come here and never leave.
The capital George Town is centred around a lagoon and is the hub of the island with banks, shops, hotel and government buildings. The island has full modern facilities and a completely laid back way of life. Only 60 miles in length reaching from end to end by one main highway. To the north is the International airport of Exuma with flights to the USA, Nassau and Cuba.
Long Island
Dramatic is the perfect word to describe Long Island. These hidden gems we call The Out Islands come in the form of small remote villages and a simple way of life. Here you’ll find some of the world’s most stunning beaches, dive sites, and fishing sites – a welcome surprise if you’re looking for that perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Home to one of the oldest dive operations in The Bahamas, Long Island has numerous shallow and deep dive sites, but is best known for Dean’s Blue Hole, the deepest recorded blue hole in The Bahamas (more than 600 feet). The western shoreline of the 80-mile-long island has soft sandy beaches capped with rich green mangroves. With the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Long Island is a haven for fishing, sailing and yachting in The Bahamas Out Islands. A towering spine of ancient reef gives 80-mile Long Island, Bahamas, two faces: the dramatic cliffs and caves of the east coast that front the crashing Atlantic waves, and the soft, sandy edged lee side which slides calmly into the Bahamas Bank. There 2 airports on the island offering flights to the USA and internal islands.
There are many stunning beaches with Cape Santa Maria Beach having been recognized by beach lovers and travel writers alike as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The island beckons visitors for world-class bonefishing and thrilling encounters with sea life, where divers and snorkelers explore gardens, caves and old plantation ruins. But Long Island, Bahamas, also is a quiet island dotted with quaint, friendly villages and miles of uninterrupted beaches that offer soft pink sand changing to yellow-white.
